Debora Silvestri Hospitalized Following Milan-San Remo Crash

Italian cyclist Debora Silvestri, who has been part of the Laboral Kutxa team since 2023, was taken to hospital after a serious crash during the women's Milan-San Remo one-day classic.

The accident occurred on the descent of the renowned Cipressa climb. It involved multiple riders when one competitor went over a barrier while attempting to avoid the incident.

"Debora Silvestri has suffered a fall on the Cipressa descent," said her Laboral Kutxa team.
"She is conscious and on her way to the hospital to receive care.
"We will provide more information on her condition in the coming hours."

In the race outcome, Lotte Kopecky secured victory by holding off Noemi Ruegg in a sprint finish to complete the 156km women's event. Meanwhile, the men's race, marking the first Monument of the season, was underway.
