Second Suspected Explosive Device Discovered on Bridlington Beach

A second suspected explosive device has been located on a beach in East Yorkshire within two days.

HM Coastguard reported that an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) team was dispatched to Bridlington's south beach earlier in the day.

A spokesperson stated that the Coastguard was first alerted to the "suspected ordnance" at approximately 14:10 BST, and a safety cordon was established around the area.

This incident follows the discovery of a device believed to be a Japanese grenade dating back to World War Two, which was found on the town's north beach on Saturday. The device was subsequently detonated by an EOD team later that day.

Following the initial discovery, some residents in the Foresters Way area of Bridlington were evacuated, and a cordon was put in place as a precautionary measure.
