M60 Motorway Clockwise Lanes Closed Due to Breakdown
Significant congestion has developed on the M60 motorway in Manchester following the closure of its clockwise lanes.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) officers are present at the scene located between junction 22 at the Hollinwood Interchange in Oldham and junction 23 Snipe Interchange at Ashton-under-Lyne. Additionally, the A635 at Manchester Road has been closed.
National Highways has advised motorists to follow the "solid diamond diversion symbol" displayed on road signs if they intend to travel clockwise on the motorway.
Neither GMP nor National Highways have disclosed the cause of the closure. National Highways stated:
"Due to the nature of the incident we cannot provide an estimated duration for the closure."
Personnel from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service are also attending the incident.
