Train Delays at Glasgow Central Due to Signalling Fault

Network Rail has confirmed that train delays are expected at Glasgow Central following a signalling fault. The issue was reported at approximately 16:30 between Glasgow Central and Crossmyloof, potentially affecting commuters during rush hour.

Services impacted include those to Barrhead, East Kilbride, Kilmarnock, Carlisle via Dumfries, Newton, and the Cathcart Circle.

Engineers have been dispatched to the site and are actively working to resolve the problem. A Network Rail spokesperson provided an update on the situation:

"Sorry if you're being delayed due to the signal fault near Glasgow Central.
Our engineers are at Muirhouse working to fix the fault as soon as possible.
They're working with the signaller to gain safe access to the track now so they can continue their fault-finding."

ScotRail staff also communicated via X, formerly known as Twitter, that they would keep customers informed as more information becomes available.
