Wales Exits World Team Table Tennis Championships at Last 32
The OVO Arena in Wembley is the venue for the knockout phase of the 2026 World Team Table Tennis Championships.
Wales' women's team saw their campaign end in the round of 32 after a narrow 3-2 loss to Hong Kong.
Anna Hursey, Wales' leading player, secured victories in both her matches against Su Tsz Tung and Doo Hoi Kem. However, Danielle Kelly was defeated by the same opponents, and Charlotte Carey lost to Ng Wing Lam, resulting in Wales being edged out at the OVO Arena in Wembley.
Wales had advanced to the knockout stage by topping their qualification group, winning all three matches against Nigeria, Uzbekistan, and Australia.
Similarly, Hong Kong progressed undefeated and as leaders of their group. Both teams avoided facing the top seven seeded teams and hosts England in the last 32 draw.
The Championships commenced with 64 men's and 64 women's teams competing and will continue until 10 May.
