Crystal Palace Engage Lens Manager Pierre Sage

Crystal Palace have initiated discussions with Pierre Sage, the current manager of Lens, regarding the possibility of him becoming their new head coach.

Last week, identified Sage as a primary candidate for the Eagles as they seek a successor to Oliver Glasner, who departed the Premier League club at the conclusion of last season.

The 47-year-old Frenchman has now been contacted by Palace, who have also approached Lens to negotiate a financial arrangement to facilitate his release from the Ligue 1 club.

Sage's Recent Achievements with Lens

Sage assumed the managerial position at Lens in June of the previous year and successfully guided the team to a second-place finish in Ligue 1.

In addition to their league performance, Lens secured the Coupe de France title, overcoming Nice to claim the trophy for the first time in their 120-year history.

Palace's Search for a New Manager

Following an unsuccessful attempt to sign their preferred candidate, Andoni Iraola, Palace shifted their focus to Sage.

The Eagles had extended an offer to Iraola to join the club; however, the Spanish coach has since committed to Liverpool on a two-year contract.

Other managerial candidates considered by Palace included Frank Lampard, Kieran McKenna, and Sean Dyche.
