Glamorgan advanced to the final of the T20 Blast League Two after a comprehensive 78-run victory against their closest rivals Middlesex at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.

This win guarantees Glamorgan the top position in the table with one match remaining, while Middlesex will now aim to secure a place in the eliminator round.

The Finals Day, which will feature the top three teams, is scheduled to take place at Sophia Gardens on Sunday, 12 July.

Strong Batting Performance from Glamorgan

Daisy Jeanes equalled her highest T20 score of 86, previously achieved against Derbyshire earlier in the season, while Lauren Parfitt contributed 43 runs in a solid opening partnership of 94 runs. This foundation propelled Glamorgan to a commanding total of 185-4.

In response, Middlesex managed only 107 runs, with Eve Jackson taking 4 wickets for 24 runs and Sara Phillips claiming 3 wickets for 24 runs. Pippa Sproul was the top scorer for Middlesex with 27 runs.

Match Progression and Key Moments

Glamorgan's performance marked a return to form following a narrow last-ball victory over Leicestershire the previous week, after defeats to Kent and Hampshire in recent matches.

Middlesex elected to bowl first. Jeanes took some time to settle but then led the charge, helping the team reach 66 runs in the powerplay overs (first six overs).

Parfitt struck nine boundaries before being dismissed lbw by Hannah Davis in the 10th over, with Glamorgan already well placed at 97-1 at the halfway point of their innings.

Megan Sturge was dismissed for six, but Jeanes and Bethan Gammon (31) continued to build the innings with a partnership worth 56 runs.

Jeanes hit 11 fours and one six before being stumped while attempting an aggressive shot off Lauren Turner, who finished with figures of 2-22 after taking two wickets in the 19th over.

Middlesex struggled early in their innings, falling to 23-3 during the powerplay. Scarlett Hughes and leading scorer Saskia Horley were unable to capitalize on dropped catches.

Eve Jackson, Glamorgan's sole seam bowler, took wickets in her first two overs. Horley, who scored 12 runs, was caught by Gemma Porter at mid-wicket.

Riva Pindoria and Pippa Sproul stabilized the innings briefly, but Middlesex had only reached 48 runs at the halfway stage. Jackson returned to dismiss Pindoria for 19.

Sproul was caught at mid-off off Sara Phillips' bowling, ending Middlesex's hopes of a comeback.

Analysis and Upcoming Fixtures

The match was unexpectedly one-sided, considering Middlesex had won two of their three encounters with Glamorgan in the 2025 season.

Finty Trussler contributed 18 runs to help Middlesex reach three figures, but the combined efforts of Phillips, Jackson, and Porter dismantled the lower order. Glamorgan's only notable weakness was their fielding, with some missed catches marring an otherwise dominant display.

Glamorgan will conclude their group stage campaign against Worcestershire Rapids on Sunday, 5 July, while Middlesex will host Sussex Sharks at Radlett later the same day.
