FBI Releases Images in Search for Nancy Guthrie
The FBI has released images of a masked individual as part of the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of news anchor Savannah Guthrie's mother.
Authorities are attempting to identify the person, who is reported to have been armed, more than eight days after 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie went missing from her residence.
Savannah Guthrie stated on Monday that her family believes Nancy is still alive and made a renewed appeal for information from the public.
Nancy Guthrie disappeared during the night from her home in Tucson, Arizona, and was last seen on January 31. Officials suspect she was taken against her will.
New Surveillance Images Uncovered
FBI Director Kash Patel released a statement on X regarding the discovery of new images:
"As of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie's front door the morning of her disappearance."
He further explained that investigators have been working to retrieve footage from the home surveillance system that may have been lost, corrupted, or otherwise inaccessible due to various factors, including the removal of recording devices.
