Police have arrested two men suspected of grievous bodily harm after a hit-and-run crash in Birmingham that resulted in a man sustaining a broken leg.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was struck on Mayfield Road in Stirchley on Thursday night by a driver who did not stop at the scene, according to West Midlands Police.

The injured individual was transported to hospital, where he underwent surgery on his shin, including the insertion of a screw in his leg.

Birmingham Selly Oak MP Al Carns expressed concern over the events in Stirchley by writing to the acting chief constable.
