Car Theft Incident in Wester Hailes

A man has been taken into custody following the theft of a vehicle at knifepoint in Edinburgh.

The victim, a 22-year-old woman, had parked her white Peugeot 208 behind the Scotmid store located at Morvenside Close in Wester Hailes when the incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the woman, she was confronted by an individual who threatened her with a knife, demanded her car keys, and subsequently drove away with another man occupying the passenger seat.

Police Response and Legal Proceedings

Police Scotland confirmed that a 47-year-old man has been arrested and charged in relation to the case.

He is scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, and authorities have forwarded a report to the prosecutors for further action.
