Two individuals were taken into custody following a car collision with a property in south Belfast. The incident occurred in the early hours when a blue Volkswagen Golf was reported to have crashed into a wall and subsequently into a conservatory located in Dorchester Park.

Police Response and Arrests

Police received the report at 03:45 BST and responded promptly to the scene. A 21-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving while unfit, and several other driving-related offences. Both suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue.

Impact on Residents and Property

Residents inside the property at the time of the crash were evacuated during the night due to safety concerns. The incident caused significant damage not only to the vehicle involved but also to the property and three additional vehicles in the vicinity.

"Extensive damage was caused to the vehicle involved, the property and three other vehicles in the area," Insp Colhoun said.
"This is a shocking incident, and it's only by sheer luck that we aren't dealing with much more serious consequences this morning," Colhoun said.
"The residents of the property had to be moved in the middle of the night, which was an extremely distressing experience for them."

Authorities are appealing to anyone who witnessed the event or has relevant information to come forward and assist with the investigation.
