No Further Legal Action Over £200,000 Cannabis Plant Seizure

No Further Court Action Over Cannabis Seizure

The Crown Office has announced that no further court proceedings will be pursued regarding the discovery of cannabis plants valued at £200,000 in an Aberdeenshire town.

Hung Nguyen, aged 40, faced charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act following the seizure of 245 cannabis plants by police in Ellon in January of the previous year.

Nguyen was initially remanded in custody after declining to enter a plea at Aberdeen Sheriff Court but was subsequently released.

The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) stated that it retains the option to initiate proceedings in the future
