Man Accused of Targeting Vulnerable Women in London

Simon Levy, 40, from Tottenham, north London, stands accused of murdering two women and raping a third in a series of predatory sexual attacks that took place in London last year. The Old Bailey court heard details of the allegations during the prosecution's opening statement.

Levy denies the charges of murdering Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, 54, and Sheryl Wilkins, 39, as well as the rape and assault of a third woman who survived the attack.

Prosecution Details Victims' Backgrounds and Attacks

Tom Little KC, opening the prosecution case, informed the court that all three women were either sex workers or occasionally exchanged sexual services for money or drugs.

"That is no coincidence. It is why and how the defendant encountered them and it is also a reason why he attacked them, no doubt hoping and thinking that he would get away with it,"

Little further explained that the surviving victim had been trafficked into the UK and was raped twice by Levy in January 2025 in a car park in Tottenham, near Levy's residence.

The woman was reportedly left unconscious and believed she was going to die after being assaulted, raped, and notably strangled.

Details of the Murders and Crime Scenes

Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo was found dead in the stairwell of a derelict building in Walworth, south London, on 17 March 2025. The prosecution stated that Levy had traveled to the area the day before, which was the last time Carmenza was seen alive. Levy was known to live in the area.

Levy's DNA was discovered at the crime scene and on Carmenza's body, according to the court.

In August 2025, Levy met Sheryl Wilkins in Tottenham. They walked together to the same car park where the first woman had been assaulted months earlier. The two were together for an extended period before Levy was seen leaving the area. No other individuals were reported to have entered the area behind a wall in the car park until Sheryl's body was found there by police the following morning.

Ongoing Legal Proceedings

Simon Levy continues to deny all charges against him as the trial proceeds at the Old Bailey.
