Michelle McManus to Depart BBC Radio Scotland
Michelle McManus is set to leave BBC Radio Scotland as the broadcaster announced a reorganization of its daytime radio presenters. The former pop idol winner will present her final show on the Afternoons slot on 29 May. Grant Stott will replace her, with Arlene Stuart, known for presenting BBC Scotland's Landward, taking over the Friday shows.

New Presenters Confirmed for Mornings and Afternoons
Connie McLaughlin has been confirmed as the presenter of Radio Scotland's Mornings programme for three days each week. McLaughlin had previously stepped in temporarily to replace Kaye Adams, who was removed from the air last year following an internal complaint regarding her conduct.
"I thoroughly enjoy the lively three hours spent with Radio Scotland listeners debating the issues of the day and hearing all their views. I'm looking forward to continuing and building that relationship."
Stephen Jardine will continue to host the Mornings show on Thursdays and Fridays.
Background on Kaye Adams' Departure
It was confirmed in February that Adams would not be returning to the show after being taken off air in October last year.
At the time, Adams stated that her name had been "dragged through the mud" and that the corporation had not provided her with details of the allegations.

The Times later reported that some complaints against Adams were upheld, while others were rejected. The BBC declined to comment on individual cases or internal procedures.
Details of the New Afternoons Line-Up
BBC Scotland stated that the new Afternoons line-up, effective from 1 June, would offer audiences a vibrant mix of music, conversation, and major interviews, focusing on Scotland's dynamic arts, culture, and entertainment scene as well as broader topics.
The current afternoon presenters, Michelle McManus, Len Pennie, and Nicola Meighan, will all step down.
McManus began presenting Afternoons in 2023 and also hosts the Entertainment Mix. She has appeared in several BBC Scotland documentaries, most recently one chronicling her journey to sing for the Pope.
Comments from BBC Scotland and New Presenters
Victoria Easton Riley, head of audio and events at BBC Scotland, commented:
"Grant is already a firm favourite with Radio Scotland audiences through The Vinyl Collective, and Arlene is an experienced radio and television broadcaster who we know brings a real warmth and connection to listeners.
We're enormously grateful to Michelle, Len and Nicola for the energy, creativity and passion they've brought to the programme."
Grant Stott said:
"I'm absolutely delighted to be returning to Afternoons. The Radio Scotland audience is a warm, curious and engaging bunch and I can't wait to dive back in.
We'll be bringing listeners everything they need to stay plugged into Scotland's buzzing arts and culture scene, all with the perfect soundtrack."
Arlene Stuart expressed enthusiasm about hosting the Friday afternoon show:
"I love radio and the connection it brings with listeners, I can't wait to get behind the mic and get the conversations started."
Programme Scheduling and Recent Changes
The Mornings programme, presented by Connie McLaughlin Monday through Wednesday and Stephen Jardine Thursday and Friday, will continue to air from 09:00 to 12:00.
These changes follow the launch of a revamped radio breakfast programme on BBC Radio Scotland six months ago, fronted by Laura MacIver and Martin Geisler.
