Appeal to Find Next of Kin for Elderly Woman

A funeral director has issued an appeal to locate the next of kin of an 81-year-old woman who passed away alone in hospital without any known family members.

Margaret Ellen 'Peggy' Murdoch had been residing in nursing homes located in Hillsborough and Lisburn prior to her death on 9 April.

She had formerly lived on Wilson Street in Lisburn and at Seacash Walk in Antrim.

Ronnie Thompson Funeral Directors, acting on behalf of the South Eastern Trust, have requested that anyone with information regarding any living relatives contact them.

In a statement posted on social media, the funeral directors noted that they have limited knowledge of her personal circumstances except that she had a twin brother who died before her.

"There is no doubt that anyone who is related to her or knows her in anyway, deserves an opportunity to mark her passing,"

they said.

At present, no funeral arrangements have been finalized.

The South Eastern Trust will proceed with making funeral plans if no relatives come forward.
