Arrest Following Deliberate Fire at Rugby Club

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of arson and attempted murder after a fire at a rugby club in Carmarthenshire.

An 11-year-old boy sustained serious injuries during the incident but is currently in a stable condition in hospital.

Incident Details

Dyfed-Powys Police reported receiving a call about a fire at Trimsaran Rugby Club at approximately 18:15 on Saturday, 23 May.

"It is alleged that a container was deliberately set on fire, causing significant damage to the container and its contents."

Club Statement

In a Facebook post, the club stated:

"The boy was trapped inside and only due to the bravery of some of our club members did he manage to escape."

The club also confirmed that the 11-year-old boy is receiving treatment at Morriston Hospital.

Ongoing Investigation

Dyfed-Powys Police have indicated that the investigation is ongoing.
