Drone Attack on Passenger Bus in Donetsk Region

Seven individuals lost their lives and 11 others sustained injuries following a drone attack targeting a passenger bus in a Russia-controlled area of Ukraine, according to an official statement.

Denis Pushilin, the Kremlin-appointed leader of Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region, reported that the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday. The bus was en route between Moscow and Simferopol, located in Russian-occupied Crimea.

Russian Drone Defense and Recent Assaults

Russian authorities stated that more than 350 drones were intercepted and downed overnight.

This drone strike follows a large-scale Russian offensive on multiple Ukrainian cities the previous day, which resulted in at least 22 fatalities, including several women and children.

Drone Interceptions Near St Petersburg

In the Leningrad region, northwest of Moscow, at least 50 drones were shot down, as reported by regional governor Alexander Drozdenko.

The Leningrad region encompasses the city of St Petersburg, which is set to host the annual International Economic Forum starting Wednesday. This event aims to present Russia's economic prospects to the global community.

International Participation in Economic Forum

Organizers have announced that delegations from over 130 countries and territories will attend the forum. Notable attendees include Chinese Vice-President Han Zheng, as well as the presidents of Uzbekistan and Tanzania.
