Festival Crowds Gather at Cardiff Castle for Tafwyl's 20th Anniversary
Large crowds flocked to Cardiff Castle on Saturday for Tafwyl, the festival celebrating its 20th anniversary since its inception. Over the weekend, the event promises two days of entertainment featuring more than 200 performers, alongside a variety of activities and stalls.

Lineup Features Prominent Welsh Artists and International Acts
This year's main artists include Candelas, Cowbois Rhos Botwnnog, HMS Morris, Martha Elen, Al Lewis, Taran, and Sage Todz. The festival is free to attend, and on Saturday, the capital saw large crowds gathering to access the castle grounds.
To commemorate 20 years since the festival's establishment, Tafwyl will host a "unique" concert on Sunday evening.
Visitors can enjoy performances across several stages: the Main Stage, Garden Stage, City Stage, Folk Stage, Voice Stage, and Y Selar.
In addition to Welsh performers, international artists will also take the stage in Cardiff, including the Lithuanian band Tanork and the Irish group Grooveline.
New Ambassadors Appointed to Promote the Festival
For the first time ever, Tafwyl has appointed two official ambassadors to help promote the festival. The ambassadors are Rose Datta and Catrin Feelings, both artists with close ties to the event who have participated in Tafwyl's stages and activities over the years.
The festival states that the role aims "to inspire young people in Cardiff and beyond to take pride in their language, culture, and creativity, building on Tafwyl's success by nurturing the next generation of Welsh artists."
"Tafwyl has been a huge part of my journey as an artist," said Rose Datta. "From performing on the festival's stages to seeing how it provides opportunities for young people to develop and build confidence, it has played a very important role in the Welsh scene."
Organisers Reflect on Two Decades of Growth
Festival organiser Bethan Jones-Ollerton commented: "It's hard to believe we are celebrating 20 years this year. Tafwyl has grown tremendously over the past two decades, and returning to Cardiff Castle for this special celebration feels very fitting."
