Robin Evans, a musician from the band Mynediad am Ddim and a notable television producer, has died at the age of 72.

He was also the first producer of the series Rownd a Rownd, alongside Susan Waters, during his time working for the company Ffilmiau'r Nant.

In addition, he produced several other programmes, including Sgorio on S4C.

Personal Life and Background

Robin, originally from Llŷn but later settled in Caernarfon, was one of the six founding members of Mynediad am Ddim when the band was formed at Aberystwyth University in 1974.

The other original members were Emyr Wyn, Mei Jones, Iwan Roberts, Graham Pritchard, and Dewi Jones.

Musical Career and Legacy

The initial aim was to compete in the 1974 Cardiff Inter-Collegiate Eisteddfod, but following their success there, they decided to continue performing.

Robin remained a member from those early days and was part of the band's tour across Wales in 2024 and 2025 as they celebrated 50 years of performing.
