Police Incident Closes M80 Southbound

Drivers have been advised to expect delays of up to 90 minutes following the closure of a major central Scotland route due to a police incident.

The M80 motorway has been closed southbound from junction seven at Haggs, near Falkirk, since the early hours of the morning amid concerns for a person.

Traffic Impact and Diversions

Traffic Scotland has reported significant delays on journeys between Falkirk and Glasgow, along with heavy congestion in the surrounding areas.

Diversions have been implemented, directing southbound motorway traffic onto the A803 and B816 before rejoining the M80 at junction six.

Expected Delays for Motorists

Motorists traveling southbound from the M876 are warned to anticipate delays of up to 90 minutes, while those coming from the M9 southbound may face waits of approximately 45 minutes.

Stagecoach Service Adjustments

Stagecoach has announced that its Glasgow express services will operate only as far as Forth Valley Hospital, where buses will wait before returning to Fife.

The service will not be able to stop at Cumbernauld or Glasgow.
