Details of the Repair Work and Traffic Diversions

National Highways has indicated that the repair work, being carried out by Southern Electricity Networks, is expected to continue throughout the morning. Traffic diversions have been implemented for vehicles traveling in both directions.

The same section of the motorway was previously closed westbound for most of Monday due to a car crash that occurred following a police chase.

Advice for Drivers

Motorists have been advised to anticipate significant delays. Those traveling westbound are recommended to exit the M4 at junction 10 and take the A329(M) towards Reading. Eastbound drivers should leave the motorway at junction 11 and follow the B3270 Lower Earley Way.

"Drivers have been warned that they could expect long delays and those travelling westbound should leave the M4 at J10 and join the A329(M) towards Reading, while those heading eastbound should exit at J11 follow the B3270 Lower Earley Way."
