Belfast International Airport Increases Drop-Off Zone Fee
Belfast International Airport will raise the charge for its drop-off zone from £3 to £5, effective Monday, 9 March. This zone, located adjacent to the terminal building, is used by individuals collecting or dropping off passengers.
In an official statement, the airport explained the price adjustment by citing the financial challenges faced by many businesses in Northern Ireland.
"The new pricing reflects significant cost pressures that many businesses across Northern Ireland are currently facing."
Drivers are permitted to use the drop-off zone for up to 10 minutes. Additionally, a free drop-off and pick-up area is available within the long-stay car park, where vehicles can wait for up to 15 minutes without incurring charges.
For blue badge holders being dropped off or collected, the airport continues to offer 30 minutes of free parking in the short stay car park.
"Blue badge holders who are getting dropped off or collected can continue to receive 30 minutes free of charge in the short stay car park," the airport stated.
The airport also emphasized its ongoing commitment to development and improvement.
"We are committed to transforming the airport and are progressing with a £100m investment programme that has already delivered a new terminal extension, security hall and enhanced duty-free experience."
"Further improvements to the exterior forecourt layout will commence shortly to support traffic flow and public transport access," they added.
