Channoi Claims Women's World Snooker Championship Title

Thai teenager Panchaya Channoi secured the Women's World Snooker Championship by defeating Reanne Evans 6-2 in the final held in Dongguan, China.

Evans, who had won the championship for ten consecutive years from 2005 and was aiming for a record 13th title, was outplayed by the 18-year-old Channoi throughout the match.

A century break from Channoi in the opening frame established her dominance early on, setting the tone for the match. She maintained control with a 3-1 lead as the game progressed.

Evans, widely recognized as the most successful player in women's snooker history, managed to reduce the deficit by winning a frame, but Channoi responded strongly. A break of 107 in the sixth frame extended her lead to 4-2.

Channoi is the third Thai player to win the Women's World Snooker Championship, joining Mink Nutcharut and Siripaporn Nuanthakhamjan as previous champions from Thailand.

Evans was appearing in her first World Snooker Championship final since 2019 and experienced her first defeat in a tournament final during her career.
