Williams initially retired in October 2024 because of concussions but announced his decision to return to the ring 12 months later.

His opponent, Ghana's Elvis Ahorgah, has a professional record of 15 wins and 4 losses. Notably, Ahorgah lost twice in England in 2025, falling to Callum Simpson at Wembley and Tyler Denny in Birmingham.
Williams Comments on Comeback
"After a lot of fuss and waiting around, here we have it," Williams said on social media. "Bit of a mad one, I didn't plan on Nigeria any time soon but no complaints."
