James Harden Arrested on Gun Charge in Houston
James Harden, guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers, was released from jail in Houston following his arrest early Saturday morning for unlawfully carrying a weapon.
According to court records, Harden was stopped by a police officer at 03:41 local time after an unconcealed handgun was observed in the cup holder of his Mercedes. The incident occurred as Harden was traveling through downtown Houston and drove up behind another vehicle, prompting the officer to notice the firearm.
Following the stop, Harden was arrested and booked at Harris County Jail after confirming ownership of the weapon. He was subsequently released on a $100 (£75) bond, with a court date set for 22 June.
Background and Career

This season, Harden has started 26 games for the Cavaliers, averaging 20.5 points, 7.7 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game.
Since being selected as the third overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft, Harden has played for multiple teams including the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Clippers, and now the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He is a six-time first-team All-NBA selection and was named the league's Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the 2017-18 season.
