Fury to Fight Wach in Thailand as Preparation for Joshua Bout

Tyson Fury, a two-time heavyweight world champion, is scheduled to fight Poland's Marius Wach in Pattaya, Thailand, on 24 July. This match serves as a warm-up for a potential all-British heavyweight clash with Anthony Joshua.

The fight in Pattaya, where Fury, aged 38, trains, will take place one day before Joshua's comeback fight on 25 July against Kristian Prenga in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Joshua's bout marks his return to the ring following a car crash in Nigeria in December 2025 that resulted in the deaths of two of his friends.

Both Fury and Joshua, who is 36 years old, must secure victories in their respective fights to set the stage for their anticipated meeting, which is planned for 2026.

Details on Marius Wach

Marius Wach, aged 46, holds a professional record of 39 wins in 51 fights, including 20 wins by knockout. However, his recent form shows only three wins in his last ten bouts. Wach experienced a second-round stoppage loss to Britain's Moses Itauma during a WBO Intercontinental heavyweight title fight in July 2024.

Wach has also been defeated by English boxers Dillian Whyte in 2019 and Frazer Clarke four years later.

Background on Joshua vs. Fury Fight Announcement

In April, Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn announced that the London 2012 Olympic gold medallist had signed to fight Fury. This announcement followed Fury's return from a 15-month retirement, marked by a points victory over Russia's Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Following that win, Fury immediately called out Joshua, who was present ringside. The two exchanged words, with Fury attempting to provoke Joshua into the ring.

Speculation and Contractual Details

There has been increasing speculation that the Fury vs. Joshua fight could take place in the United States, influenced by Saudi powerbroker Turki Alalshikh's involvement.

However, last week Eddie Hearn told that Joshua and Fury are contractually obligated to hold their fight in the United Kingdom.

Previously, Fury had suggested that his interim fight would be held in Dublin on 1 August.
