Defending champions St Mirren commenced their Premier Sports Cup campaign with a commanding 4-0 victory over Dumbarton. Meanwhile, Greenock Morton, competing in the second tier, experienced a surprising home defeat to Lowland League champions Linlithgow Rose.
Scottish Cup finalists Dunfermline Athletic were also unexpectedly defeated by third-tier East Kilbride.
Dundee overcame a deficit against Airdrieonians to avoid an upset loss at home to the League 1 side, while Falkirk, fellow Premiership competitors, delivered a dominant performance against Edinburgh City.
Dundee United required a stoppage-time penalty to narrowly defeat fourth-tier Stirling Albion. Additional wins were recorded by Arbroath, Ayr United, Hamilton Academical, Partick Thistle, Queen's Park, Raith Rovers, Ross County, and Stenhousemuir.
Queen's Park Rally to Defeat Brora Rangers
Queen's Park recovered from an early setback to overcome Highland League champions Brora Rangers. Sam Nixon gave the visitors the lead with a header in the 16th minute. Aidan Connolly equalized before the half-hour mark, Michael Ruth put Queen's Park ahead shortly after the hour, and Nikolay Todorov's header sealed a comfortable victory in Aberdeen's group.
Kelty Hearts Secure Bonus Point After Draw
Relegated Kelty Hearts earned a bonus point following a draw with Queen of the South, their opponents from last season's League 1. Ross Cunningham scored for Kelty in the 28th minute, and new player-manager Nicky Clark equalized three minutes later. Despite the draw, Queen of the South prevailed in the penalty shoot-out.
Dundee United Edge Stirling Albion with Late Penalty
Stirling Albion, managed by Steven Whittaker, appeared poised to force a penalty shoot-out against Dundee United. However, Zac Sapsford was fouled when receiving a cross from 16-year-old debutant midfielder Cohen Leiper, and Sapsford converted the winning penalty in stoppage time.
Arbroath Claim Late Victory Over Spartans
Arbroath secured a win against League 2 hosts Spartans with a late goal from Ryan Flynn five minutes before full time. Andy Winter had given Arbroath the lead six minutes before halftime, but Bradley Whyte equalized for the Edinburgh side ten minutes into the second half.

East Kilbride Upset Dunfermline Athletic
East Kilbride made an early substitution, bringing on Lewis McGrattan, who marked his debut with a curled shot from just inside the penalty area in the 24th minute. Two long clearances by goalkeeper Shay Kelly facilitated goals by fellow debutants Finlay Gray and Cameron Elliott, securing a deserved win over Neil Lennon's Dunfermline Athletic.

Dundee avoided repeating last season's group-stage exit by Airdrieonians but had to come from behind twice. Trialist Kian Taylor's effort deflected off the post and goalkeeper Harry Sharp to give Airdrieonians an 11th-minute lead. Charlie Reilly equalized with a superb strike after 30 minutes. Sam Fisher scored a free-kick from near the halfway line to put Dundee ahead, but Ethan Hamilton powered an equalizer. Joe Bevan then scored to give Dundee the lead, followed by Ashley Hay's header to make it 4-2.
Ross County Dominate Annan Athletic
Ross County secured a 4-1 away win over Annan Athletic, signaling their intent as strong contenders for the League 1 title following relegation. New signing Brian Graham converted a penalty and scored again shortly after halftime. An own goal by Aaron Muirhead further extended the lead, with Connor Randall adding a fourth. Aidan Smith scored a late consolation goal for Annan Athletic.

Stenhousemuir Secure Win Over Forfar Athletic
Stenhousemuir broke the deadlock after 66 minutes against League 2 visitors Forfar Athletic. Lewis Hodgkiss scored a close-range finish, followed two minutes later by Matthew Aitken on the break. The side, recently promoted to the Championship and managed by Marvin Bartley, claimed the three points.
Linlithgow Rose Upset Greenock Morton
Linlithgow Rose, previously denied promotion play-off entry due to ground standards, demonstrated their competitiveness within the SPFL by defeating Championship side Morton. Calum Rae scored the decisive goal in the 58th minute on a counterattack at Cappielow.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle Earn Bonus Point
League 1 champions Inverness Caledonian Thistle secured a bonus point after equalizing in stoppage time against East Fife, their opponents from the previous season. Myles Gaffney put East Fife ahead shortly after halftime, but Adam Mackinnon's strike forced the game into a penalty shoot-out, which Caley Thistle won 5-3.

Hamilton Academical and Raith Rovers Secure Wins
Cian Newbury's header in the 33rd minute was sufficient for Hamilton Academical to claim victory away to League 1 rivals Peterhead in Kilmarnock's group. Raith Rovers also earned three points, leading 2-0 at halftime thanks to a Morgyn Neill own goal and a Kai Montagu strike. Oliver Colloty pulled one back for League 2 visitors Elgin City, but Ross Millen's close-range finish ended any hopes of a comeback.
