The table doesn't lie – so they say.
If you don't accumulate enough points in the Premier League, you risk relegation to the Championship.
However, with the quality of teams varying each season, there have been occasions when underperforming teams have avoided relegation, while others who believed they had done enough were still demoted.
In one particular 42-game season, four teams were relegated despite achieving relatively high points totals.
