Smith Injured During Arsenal's FA Cup Win
Olivia Smith started for Arsenal in their fifth round Women's FA Cup match against Bristol City. During the game, the 21-year-old forward was involved in a head clash early in the second half, which caused a significant delay in play and resulted in 14 minutes of stoppage time added to the second half.
Following the incident, Smith was fitted with a neck brace and was carried off the pitch on a stretcher. The crowd at Mangata Developments Stadium gave her a standing ovation as she was taken off.
Arsenal secured their place in the quarter-finals with a 3-0 win, thanks to goals from Kim Little, Victoria Pelova, and Frida Maanum. Smith currently ranks as Arsenal's joint second-highest scorer across all competitions this season, having scored eight goals.
