Wilson Confirms Fitness for Wales World Cup Play-Offs

Harry Wilson has provided a significant boost to Wales by confirming his fitness for the upcoming World Cup play-offs scheduled for later this month.

The Fulham attacking midfielder, who has been among the Premier League's most in-form players recently, missed Fulham's last two matches due to an ankle injury.

Wilson has since returned to training and is optimistic about being available for Fulham's Premier League match against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Wales will host Bosnia-Herzegovina in their play-off semi-final on Thursday, 26 March. Should Wales win, Craig Bellamy's team will face either Italy or Northern Ireland in Cardiff five days later for a spot in this summer's World Cup.

"I'm good. I had a bit of a knock after the Spurs game, which took a week or so to go, but I'm back training now, so I'm hoping I'll be good to go for Sunday and definitely good to go for the Wales games."

Wilson's Role and Recent Form

Wilson is a key player for Wales, having scored 12 of his 17 international goals over the past three years.

He demonstrated his importance with a hat-trick in Wales' most recent match, a 7-1 victory over North Macedonia last November, which secured home advantage for the World Cup play-off semi-final.

At club level, Wilson has been in excellent form for Fulham this season, netting nine goals and providing six assists.

This impressive performance has attracted interest from clubs such as Aston Villa and Everton, with a bid for the 28-year-old being rejected in February.

Wilson's contract with Fulham expires at the end of this season, meaning he could leave on a free transfer in the summer unless he agrees to a new deal with the club.

"It (transfer speculation) happens when players are in good form or their contract is coming to an end," Wilson said.
"I think that's natural talk but I don't try and listen to that. I try to concentrate on games.
"I don't want any distractions. My job is to play football.
"The contracts and transfer talk and that comes with that, but I think I try and leave that to my agent, especially with big games coming up. That's all I want to be focussed on."
