Evans Signs New Contract with Newport County
Defender Cameron Evans has committed his future to Newport County by signing a new contract. The 25-year-old versatile player, who has operated as a centre-back, full-back, and midfielder during his 41 appearances last season, was initially set to become a free agent this summer but has now extended his stay at Rodney Parade.
Evans, a former Wales youth international and product of the Swansea City academy, is preparing for his third season with Newport. He joined the Exiles from Taunton Town in the summer of 2024. Notably, Evans' only first-team appearance for his former club Swansea City came in the FA Cup.
Brennan Also Commits to Newport
Following Evans' lead, Ciaran Brennan has also agreed to a new deal with the League Two club. The 26-year-old defender secured his immediate future with Newport after making 29 appearances across all competitions during the 2025-26 campaign.
Brennan demonstrated versatility throughout the season, playing in multiple positions including full-back, centre-back, and midfield. The former Sheffield Wednesday trainee joined Newport County in 2024 and, alongside Evans, is among the latest players to commit to the 2026-27 season at Rodney Parade.
Additional Player Movements
These contract renewals follow the permanent signing of midfielder Harrison Biggins. Conversely, three players—Bobby Kamwa, Matt Baker, and Michael Spellman—have declined new contract offers from Newport County.
