Benfica's Gianluca Prestianni has been provisionally suspended for one match following an alleged racist abuse incident reported by Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr during their recent Champions League encounter.
Vinicius informed referee Francois Letexier that he was subjected to racial abuse by the Argentine winger during the first leg of the Champions League knockout play-off tie held in Lisbon last Tuesday.
UEFA Investigation and Potential Further Sanctions
On Monday, UEFA announced the provisional suspension after appointing an ethics and disciplinary inspector to examine the incident in detail.
The European football governing body indicated that additional disciplinary measures might be imposed once the investigation concludes.
Upcoming Second Leg Match
The two clubs are scheduled to face each other again in the second leg, which will take place in Madrid on Wednesday at 20:00 GMT.
