Ben White Recalled to England Squad
Arsenal defender Ben White has been called up to the England national team for the first time in more than three years. The 27-year-old defender last featured for England during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar but left the camp for personal reasons.
Following his departure from the World Cup squad, White made himself unavailable for selection throughout the remainder of Gareth Southgate's tenure as England manager.
Upcoming England Fixtures
England are scheduled to play two friendly matches at Wembley Stadium, facing Uruguay on 27 March and Japan on 31 March.
White's last appearance for England was in a 3-0 friendly victory against Ivory Coast in March 2022.
Squad Changes and Selection Details
White has been called up as a replacement for Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah, who was ruled out due to a thigh injury. The expanded 35-man squad was announced by Thomas Tuchel.
Notably, Real Madrid defender Trent Alexander-Arnold was not included in the squad.
Ben White's Recent Club Performances
This season, White has made only seven Premier League appearances for Arsenal, who currently lead the league. However, he has featured in eight of Arsenal's 10 Champions League matches as they progressed to the quarter-finals.
Additionally, White started in Arsenal's 2-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
