England Faces India in First Women's T20 International
England's preparation for the T20 World Cup continues with a challenging series against India, the reigning 50-over world champions. Following their 2-1 series victory over New Zealand, the current T20 World Cup holders, England now confront a formidable opponent in a three-match series commencing at Chelmsford under sweltering conditions.
India is widely regarded as the second favorite to win the World Cup, trailing only Australia, making this series a significant test for both teams. While neither side desires to enter the World Cup after a series loss, the outcomes extend beyond wins and defeats. Each match serves as an individual contest within the team sport, with selection spots at stake for players on both sides.
By the conclusion of the series at Taunton on Tuesday, team captains Charlotte Edwards and Amol Muzumdar are expected to finalize their starting XIs for the World Cup.
The opening match is scheduled to start at 6:30 pm.
