A woman has sustained significant life-changing injuries after being struck by a vehicle in an alleged hit and run, according to police reports.

The incident occurred near The Swan pub on Russell Road in Rhyl, Denbighshire, at 23:50 BST on Friday.

Arrest and Investigation

A 32-year-old man from Prestatyn has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene.

North Wales Police have since released the man on bail as inquiries continue into the incident.

Police Statement

Detective Inspector Tim Evans expressed gratitude towards those who assisted the injured woman immediately after the collision.

"I am grateful to members of the public who immediately came forward to assist the female pedestrian who has sustained significant life-changing injuries."

He also addressed misinformation circulating on social media regarding the collision.

"I am aware of social media reports relating to the collision and would ask that people do not speculate, as some of this information is incorrect and could potentially be damaging to any possible judicial process," he said.
