Water Leak Halts BBC Look East Broadcasts
A water leak at the BBC's regional TV studio in Norfolk has caused BBC Look East's bulletins to be taken off air.
Morning regional TV services are currently being transmitted from the BBC London studio until further notice. Meanwhile, listeners of BBC Radio Norfolk have been receiving programming from BBC Radio Suffolk.
The leak is confined to the section of The Forum building that accommodates the BBC.
Impact on Radio Norfolk
Suffolk presenter Wayne Bavin addressed listeners, stating:
If you're listening in Norfolk this isn't an April Fool - they've had a little bit of a problem at the Forum where BBC Radio Norfolk is based. They've had a flood.
BBC Radio Norfolk resumed its own output at 08:00 BST, broadcasting from its sister station in Ipswich.
Cause and Coverage Area
It is understood that the issue at The Forum was caused by a leak originating from an air conditioning unit.
BBC Look East provides coverage for Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, and Suffolk.
