Comments from Current Lord Provost Bill Campbell

Bill Campbell, the current Dundee lord provost, described Duncan as an "approachable, kind man." Speaking at a full council meeting, Campbell said:

"I found Bob to have great empathy and understanding, always willing to help those who asked for help.
He was a source of great strength to me, and he also had a humorous side I enjoyed.
I will always be the better for having known this approachable kind man, a wonderful lord provost, and I personally will miss him."

Personal Remembrances from Councillor Stewart Hunter

Councillor Stewart Hunter, who has known Duncan for over 40 years as a close family friend, shared his reflections:

"(Bob and his wife Brenda) were good friends to my mum, really close to my children, and particularly my son, who almost saw Bob as a surrogate grandfather.
He was the perfect person to be lord provost.
His thoughts were always with other people first and foremost.
It's a huge loss to Brenda and the family, it's a huge loss to me and my family, and it's a huge loss to the city as well."

Career Background

Prior to his political career, Bob Duncan worked at local printing company Valentine's and at Mossman Memorials.
