Murder Charges Filed Following Discovery of Body in Wheelie Bin

Three individuals have been charged with murder after a man's body was discovered in a wheelie bin.

The deceased has been identified as Thomas Niven, aged 37, whose body was found in a park off Daimler Road, Coventry, on Friday evening.

West Midlands Police confirmed that Tammy Sturdy, 45, Camron Sturdy, 21, and Shane Turkington, 37, all from Coventry, have been charged with murder.

All three suspects have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear at Coventry Magistrates' Court on Thursday morning.

Following an appeal over the weekend to establish the identity of the body, the police formally named Thomas Niven on Tuesday.

Family Tribute

Niven's family issued a tribute through the police force expressing their grief.

"We are all in shock and are devastated, our hearts are in pieces at the loss of Tom in such a cruel way. He was a pillar of strength towards us all," the family said.
"He was loving and caring, he loved all of his family, he was a big softy when it came to animals and his nephews and nieces."

Ongoing Investigation and Support

The police stated they continue to support the victim's family and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding Thomas Niven's death.
