Security Alert in Lurgan

A police station in Lurgan is currently the focus of a "deeply concerning" security alert, according to Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) MP Carla Lockhart.

Police have reported that several roads in the County Armagh town remain closed on Tuesday morning following an alert on Church Place.

Evacuations and Controlled Explosion

Approximately 100 homes have been evacuated as a precautionary measure due to the alert. Authorities have conducted a controlled explosion in response to the situation.

"This is not something anyone wants to see in our society today," the MP said, emphasizing the gravity of the incident.

"The situation is deeply concerning, and I would strongly urge anyone who may have any information to come forward."

Support for Evacuated Residents

In support of those displaced, Lurgan Town Hall has been opened to accommodate residents who have been moved out of their homes during the ongoing security operation.
