Road Closure Due to Food Waste Spill

Police were dispatched to Harrison Way on the A1096 in St Ives at 07:25 BST on Monday following a significant spillage incident.

A lorry spilled 24 tonnes of food waste, resulting in the closure of the road in both directions for several hours.

Cambridgeshire Police confirmed their attendance at the scene early Monday morning.

According to travel information provider Inrix, the spill occurred between Hemingford Road and Meadow Lane.

Highway authorities conducted a clean-up operation to clear the food waste from the road surface.
