Security Alert Prompts Evacuations in South Belfast
Several residents were evacuated from their homes following a security alert on Roosevelt Street in south Belfast. The incident occurred during the early hours of Thursday morning.
Items Recovered and Removed for Examination
During a search of a property, a number of items were recovered. These items have since been removed for further examination by authorities.
Evacuations Extend to Iverna Street
In addition to Roosevelt Street, residents in Iverna Street were also evacuated as a precautionary measure. The Sandy Row Community Centre has been opened to accommodate those displaced by the evacuations.
Arrests Made Following Search
Following the search operation, a man and a woman were arrested in connection with the incident.

Police officers continue to maintain a presence at the scene, working alongside Ammunition Technical Officers to ensure safety and conduct further investigations.
