Police Patrols in Bangor After Multiple Youth Injuries and Antisocial Reports

Police will patrol Bangor on Sunday after four youths were injured amid reports of antisocial behaviour involving large groups on Saturday evening.

Police Presence in Bangor Following Youth Injuries

Authorities will maintain a police presence in Bangor, County Down, on Sunday in response to several reports of antisocial behaviour involving numerous young people.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) confirmed that four young individuals sustained injuries and sought hospital treatment on Saturday evening.

Chief Inspector Hutchinson stated that PSNI officers will be patrolling the town to provide reassurance to the public.

He noted that there were reports of a large group of young people causing disturbances on Saturday evening.

Police received a report at approximately 19:05 BST regarding a crowd of youths engaged in a fight on Quay Street, who then dispersed running towards High Street.

Additional reports indicated that sizeable groups of youths were gathering at the train station.

"We would like to reassure the local community that we take all reports of antisocial seriously and that we recognise the wider impact this kind of behaviour can have," Hutchinson added.

Furthermore, a 13-year-old boy was arrested on Abbey Street at about 20:15 BST for breaching bail conditions and remains in police custody.
