Unexpected Nest in Bathroom
A woman from Bedford discovered an unusual visitor in her bathroom after returning home from a few days away. Mimmy Stranger found that a pigeon had made a nest inside her makeup bag on a bathroom shelf.
The bird had gathered twigs and leaves to create the nest, where it has laid two eggs and appears to be settled comfortably.

A New Feathered Resident
Stranger, aged 30, named the pigeon "Pidgey" and expressed her willingness to allow the bird to remain undisturbed during this time. She humorously remarked that she was preparing to be a "grandma to twins."
"I'd been away, spending some nice time with my mum and came back and noticed there was stuff all over the floor.
So I looked ahead of me in my bathroom and there was a pigeon in a nest in my makeup bag on my shelf in the bathroom that had laid two eggs.
I love all animals so I want to make sure they have a chance.
She's very happy where she is. It's a bit of a difficult situation because I know that I don't want to disturb the nest... I want her to be able to do what she needs to do as a mum but I've become grandma to twins."
Living with Pidgey
Despite the unusual location of the nest, Stranger is committed to providing a safe environment for Pidgey and her eggs. She plans to wait until the chicks hatch before naming them.
"I'm going to wait till they're born and then we're going to give them names," she said.
"The mum is so happy there. I can walk in without her moving, she is in full mum mode.
We've got like an unspoken agreement, me and Pidgey - so she's all right where she is."

Legal Considerations
The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) advises that it is illegal to remove an active bird nest. According to the wildlife charity, any action to remove or block a nest should only be taken after the chicks have left.
"Instead, you must allow the chicks to leave the nest before taking any action to remove a nest or block an entrance to it," the RSPB states on its website.
The Bedfordshire-based charity has been contacted for comment regarding the situation.
