Incident on Jet2 Flight Leads to Passenger's Death
Callum Kerr was travelling on a Jet2 flight from Cyprus to Manchester when he became ill.
A man who was restrained on a Jet2 flight by fellow passengers and cabin crew after allegedly assaulting another passenger and a staff member has died.
Police were called following reports of a passenger attacking another customer and a crew member on the Jet2 flight from Cyprus to Manchester, described as "disruptive and aggressive," in the early hours of Monday.
Upon landing at Manchester Airport, officers detained Callum Kerr, 35, of Warrington, using handcuffs. However, they soon found him "unresponsive" and performed CPR before transporting him to hospital, according to Greater Manchester Police (GMP).
Kerr, known as a bare-knuckle fighter, died on Tuesday. An investigation into his death is ongoing.
Tributes and Investigation
Family and loved ones paid tribute to Kerr, stating:
"Callum was a family man, father to three beautiful young children, a lover of sport and with a heart of gold."
GMP confirmed a mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to police contact with Kerr prior to his death.
