Nomination Deadlines and Requirements

Prospective candidates have until 15 July to secure the backing of 81 MPs. Additionally, they must obtain the necessary nominations from affiliated organizations, including trade unions, by 16 July to remain in contention.

Balloting Process if Multiple Candidates Qualify

If more than one MP achieves the required support to advance, a ballot involving Labour party members and affiliated supporters will be conducted between 6 and 27 August.

The final outcome of the leadership election is scheduled to be announced on 29 August.
