Fire Breaks Out at Fife Recycling Plant
A significant fire erupted at a recycling facility located at the Lower Melville Wood Landfill Site near Ladybank in Fife. Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at approximately 13:35.
Nine fire engines along with specialist resources responded to the incident. Due to the fire, the A92 between Melville Lodges and Ladybank, as well as the B937 from Eden Bridge to the A91, have been closed to traffic. Police Scotland has advised motorists to seek alternative routes to avoid the affected areas.

Images circulating on social media show large flames rising prominently and thick grey smoke clouds spreading into the sky. Numerous residents across Fife have reported observing smoke from nearby towns, with some even seeing it across the water from Portobello in Edinburgh.
Safety Measures and Firefighting Efforts
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has urged local residents to keep their windows and doors closed while crews work to control the fire.
