Man Jailed for Grooming Teen via Roblox
A 19-year-old man, Carlo Tritta, has been sentenced to 28 months in prison after grooming a 14-year-old girl he met on the online gaming platform Roblox. Tritta persistently messaged the teenager, encouraging her to send sexually explicit images of herself.
Detective Superintendent Rod Kenny from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary commented on the case, highlighting the manipulative nature of the relationship.
"The victim, from Greater Manchester, thought she was in loving relationship but it was founded in coercion, control and abuse."
Tritta pleaded guilty to multiple charges including making indecent images of a child, sexual communications with a child, and causing a child aged 13-15 to watch a sexual act. Additionally, he admitted to two counts of intimidating a witness and criminal damage.
The sentencing took place at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, where Judge Kieran Rankin addressed Tritta directly.
"It was clear to you very early on that she was under 16.
Your behaviour has had a significant negative effect on [the girl] and her family."
