Man Identified After Fatal A75 Collision in Dumfries

Fatal Collision on A75 in Dumfries

Police have identified the man who died after being struck by a vehicle on the A75 in Dumfries.

Graham Wight, aged 43, was pronounced dead at the scene following the incident involving a silver Ford Fiesta. The collision occurred on the A75 between the Lockerbie Road roundabout and the A701 roundabout at approximately 03:00.

Following the impact with Mr. Wight, the Ford Fiesta collided with a silver lorry traveling in the opposite direction.

Police Statement and Investigation

Police Scotland Sergeant Wayne Carnochan expressed condolences to the deceased's loved ones.

"Our thoughts remain with Graham's family and friends at this extremely difficult time."

He also noted that investigations are ongoing and urged anyone with information to contact Police Scotland.

Road Closure and Aftermath

The A75 was closed for over 19 hours to facilitate the investigation and necessary road repairs following the collision.
