Man Arrested Near Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s Home

A man has been taken into custody on suspicion of a public order offence and possession of an offensive weapon close to the residence of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

Norfolk police stated:

“Officers were called to Wolferton shortly after 7.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 6 May 2026) following a report a man was behaving in an intimidating manner in the village.
“Officers attended, and the man was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and possession of an offensive weapon. He was taken to King’s Lynn police investigation centre for questioning and remains in custody.”

Mountbatten-Windsor, reportedly accompanied by a member of his private security detail, hurried towards his nearby parked car and left the scene at speed as the suspect allegedly attempted to pursue him.

The Telegraph reported that the incident occurred on public land along a lane near Sandringham Royal Parkland and Marsh Farm, the property on the Sandringham Estate where Mountbatten-Windsor relocated following his departure last year.

Buckingham Palace has declined to comment on the matter. Representatives for Mountbatten-Windsor have not responded to requests for comment.

Mountbatten-Windsor receives an annual stipend from his brother, King Charles, which includes an allowance for private security costs; however, it is understood that the former duke decides how to allocate these funds.

In February, on his 66th birthday, Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office linked to allegations that he shared sensitive information with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during his tenure as the UK’s trade envoy. He was subsequently released under investigation.

He has denied any wrongdoing related to his association with Epstein and has strongly refuted all allegations against him.
