Arrest Near Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's Residence

A man has been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and possession of an offensive weapon near Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's home in Norfolk.

Police responded to reports of a man exhibiting intimidating behaviour in the village of Wolferton, close to the Sandringham Estate, at approximately 19:30 on Wednesday.

According to the Daily Telegraph, a man wearing a balaclava allegedly ran towards the former prince while he was walking his dogs.

Mountbatten-Windsor and a member of his private security team quickly returned to their car and left the scene as the suspect reportedly attempted to pursue them, the report stated.

The man was said to have been sitting in a car before exiting and approaching the former prince while shouting, as detailed by the newspaper.

Police Investigation and Custody

Norfolk Police confirmed the suspect was taken to King's Lynn for questioning and remains in custody.

The incident occurred near Marsh Farm, a property on the Sandringham Estate where Mountbatten-Windsor relocated after leaving Royal Lodge in Windsor. This move followed his association with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Last year, Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped by the King of his right to be a prince and his dukedom due to his links to Epstein.

Mountbatten-Windsor has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

Aftermath and Official Responses

The Telegraph reported that the former duke was reportedly shaken by the incident and was asked to provide a statement regarding the event, as was his personal protection officer.

It is understood that the King provides Mountbatten-Windsor with a private lump-sum allowance to cover living expenses, which includes funding for private security protection.

Mountbatten-Windsor has been approached for comment. Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the matter.
